Take Back the Archive is a public history project created by UVa faculty, students, librarians, and archivists. It is meant to preserve, visualize, and contextualize the history of rape and sexual violence at the University of Virginia, honoring individual stories and documenting systemic issues and trends.Â

The Hunting Ground, which was released in early 2015,is a documentary about sexual violence on college campuses across the United States.  Interviews from survivors and college administrators paired with statistics shape the movie.  The University of Virginia screened the documentary on April 20, 215 with 11 co-sponsors including Take Back the Archive and the Scholars’ Lab.
