In their thesis, Jessie E. Blundell and Sarah Curtis-Fawley write, "The purpose of this project, ... , is to create a space in which people can start talking about rape, armed with accurate information regarding the prevalence of rape, the causes of rape, how rape affects its victims, and what institutions such as the University of Virginia have done to address rape" (1).
