Engendering Respect

In the weeks leading up to Black History Month, this opinion article discusses the trans-racial unification of women in the wake of the sexual assault of multiple female recruits by male instructors at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. She discusses further the recent rise of important female political figures, such as Hillary Clinton and Madeline Albright, and concludes that the challenges and triumphs of women at the present moment occur regardless of race.
