Cowboys and Injunctions

Michael Irvin and Erik Williams, players for the Dallas Cowboys, are acquitted of charges of sexual assault. A police investigation into allegations of assault made by Nina Shahravan finds that Irvin had an alibi, and Shahravan admits to fabricating the assault story. The writer discusses this case from the perspective of the rights of the accused, and the media portrayal of black males as sexually aggressive and violent.
