Officials Gather for Discussion of Security

In the wake of several housing break-ins in the University community, UVA and Charlottesville officials gather to discuss community safety. University Police Captain Michael Coleman discusses providing better nighttime lighting and instituting a third-party sexual assault reporting program at the Women's Center. Women's Center Director Sharon Davie remarks on the disparity between the zero sexual assault cases reported to local police, and the 116 assaults reported to the Sexual Assault Education Office in the recent past.
