Court Hears Victim's Suit

After being abducted from the parking lot of her Brandon Avenue apartment, fourth-year University student Lisa Pelled sues the owners of the apartment complex on the grounds that their failure to provide adequate lighting i the parking lot significantly increased the risk of crime, which led to her abduction. The defendants argue that they had no control over the actions of Pelled's attacker, and that she is suing the wrong party. Pelled's attacker, Ricky Donnell Hunter, was previously sentenced to 90 years in prison for raping Pelled, and for a previous rape.
