Increased Interracial Understanding Needed

This letter to the editor is written by Paul L. Puryear, the Dean of Afro-American Affairs. It criticizes a Cavalier Daily article, which condoned a recent football tailgate that featured a child in blackface playing a slave to a group of white diners. While the Cavalier Daily dismissed the incident as something done "in the spirit of fun," Puryear condemns it as bigoted and disrespectful to minority students.
