In "Jefferson Society members allege environment hostile to women," Heather Brandeis White's resignation from the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society is announced along with a summary of the Friday meeting at which she resigned. In "Committee's letter urges response from U.Va. administration, police," the steps taken by administration after President John T. Casteen received a letter from the Committee for Constructive Reform, a group of Jefferson Literary and Debating Society members, reporting the "'repeated violation of state laws, regulations of the University, student codes of conduct and the Society's Contracted Independent Organization agreement.'"
