Community angry at administration

Community members including UVA alumni and current UVA faculty share a range of responses to how UVA administration, particularly President Teresa Sullivan, have handled the fallout from the 11/19 Rolling Stone article. Particular outrage is expressed at President Sullivan's choice to use the phrase "sexual misconduct" to describe the events detailed in the Rolling Stone article in her initial statement to the community. This article includes a photo of audience members at a specially called Board of Visitors meeting on sexual assault holding protest signs behind President Sullivan. Chris Lewis, a UVA alum and Charlottesville resident, is quoted, saying, "I've never felt like this about anything that's gone on at the university. I'm aghast at what's gone on in the last week."
