Women's Group Protests Playboy

The Charlottesville chapter of NOW paints the slogan "Pornography the theory. Rape the practice." on Beta Bridge, in protest of Playboy's recruitment of UVA female students for its Women of the Party Colleges issue. NOW representatives assert that pornographic depictions of the domination of women and other stereotypes encourage sexual violence. Playboy photographer David Chan passes the protest off as an attention-seeking ploy by NOW.
