Student Testifies; Plaintiff Rests Case

Fourth-year University student Lisa Pelled sues the owners of her Brandon Avenue apartment complex after she is abducted from the parking lot and raped. She testifies that inadequate lighting in the parking lot significantly increased the probability of crime, leading to her abduction and rape, and resulting in subsequent damage to her physical and mental health. Charlottesville crime prevention officer Francis Upman inspects the premises and testifies that the lighting is adequate both during the day and night.
